Lucille Velez (née Garcia), 83, of Dumont, passed away August 16, 2026.  Beloved wife of Peter A. Velez.  Devoted mother of  Rita Lodato, Brenda Stamboulian and husband Christopher, John McCarthy and wife Jeannette.  Cherished grandmother of five grandchildren, Alex Lodato, Elizabeth Dale and husband John Thomas Dale, Erica Stamboulian, Emily Stamboulian and partner Cameron Porette, and Jonathan McCarthy. Great grandmother of Juliette Dale & Christopher Dale. Beloved sister to predeceased Aida Valentine & Mercedes Garcia.  Survived by two brothers Edgar (Chino) Garcia and Victor Garcia.  Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Lucille was born in New York City to Rita (née Sanchez) and Enrique Garcia.  She was employed with Carolace Embroidery of Ridgefield for many years.  She especially enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and spending time with her friends.  Holidays were especially meaningful to her because they brought her family together.  She cherished the time spent around the table sharing meals, stories, laughter and traditions with the people she loved most.

Visitation Saturday, August 22, 2026, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.  Cremation is private.
