Richard M. LiPuma, “Richie,” 61, of Dumont, New Jersey, passed away on June 19, 2026, at Englewood Hospital, surrounded by his beloved wife, daughter, care team, and friends.
Richie was the beloved husband of Lucita LiPuma (née Sumbilla) and the loving “Superman” dad of Ace LiPuma. He was predeceased by his parents, Carmen LiPuma (née Santiago) and Chris LiPuma.
Born at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey, Richard graduated from Dumont High School and lived most of his life in Dumont with his beloved wife and daughter. He worked for many years as a master automotive technician at Park Avenue Acura in Maywood, and other dealerships of Honda.
Richie found great joy in helping others, and his love knew no bounds. He lived a humble life while serving as a constant source of joy, love, and laughter. Many regarded him as a strong, “Gentle Giant Hero” because of the unconditional kindness he shared, always offering support to friends, family, and anyone in need of a helping hand.
Richie appreciated the simple joys of life, especially spending time with his family, and spending time outdoors. His passions included building grandfather clocks, listening to music, and taking spontaneous road trips with his family. Through his abundant kindness and generous heart, Richie leaves behind a lasting Legacy of Love in the hearts blessed to know him.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Dumont. Richard will be laid to rest at Woodside Cemetery in Dumont.
