Obituary

Anthony (Tony) P. Meyer, 49, formerly of Dumont, NJ entered eternal peace on May 18, 2026.

Tony graduated from Dumont High School in 1995. As an avid sports fan, Tony thrived playing center for the Huskies. His love of football carried on after high school through his love of the Dallas Cowboys. While attending the culinary program at Johnson & Wales, Tony found his true life’s passion – cooking. Becoming a chef in New York City, he was able to master his skills in the kitchen and was always happy sharing that skill with others.

Tony had a larger than life personality with a knack for storytelling. Making people laugh came easy and was a joy for him. Everyone Tony met was made to feel like family. As part of that family, you could count on one thing – a call from Tony. He valued checking in with everyone, making sure all was good, and catching up.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elizabeth “Betty” Meyer. He is survived by his brother Richard and fiancee Domenica, his brother Steve and wife Jamie along with their sons, Steven and his partner Josue, Derrick, and Nicholas, his brother Joseph and his wife Tricia, along with their daughter Anna. Tony will also be missed by his large family and circle of friends.

A celebration of Tony’s life will happen on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 12 PM to 4 PM at the Elks Lodge, 15 American Legion Terrace, Dumont, NJ 07628. All friends and family are welcome.

“Goodbye is not forever, it simply means, I’ll miss you until we meet again”
