Nelson F. Moncada, 68, of Dumont, NJ, entered into eternal life on October 9, 2025.  Beloved husband of Ethel Anne (née Cvelich).  Loving father of Michael and Christopher Moncada.  Loving father-in-law to Alexandra and Jessica.  Cherished grandfather of Miles and Andy Moncada.

Nelson was a loving son of Lila (née Reyes) and Maximo Moncada.  He came with them to the United States from Honduras as a child.  He was raised in Manhattan and loved his city. 

Nelson’s family was everything to him and he raised two wonderful sons who were his pride and joy.  Through the years, he enjoyed coaching their soccer and baseball teams. 

A celebration of Nelson’s life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.  A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM.  Nelson will be interred at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

After being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2007, his prognosis was uncertain.  Nelson managed to quietly battle for 18 years, while serving and loving his family every day.  His legacy is a true testament to the human spirit.
