Obituary

Alice Widman, 90, of Dumont, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024. She is survived by her beloved husband, Theodore “Ted” Widman. She is also survived by her loving daughters, Laura (Steve) Riccardi and Maryann Widman, as well as her granddaughter, Jessica Pellettere. Alice is predeceased by her brother, Joseph Kopacz, and her two sisters, Mary Wolff and Stephanie Bowen.

Alice was born in Manhattan, NY on December 10, 1933 to Marianna (née Zyjewska) and Julian Kopacz. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Cathedral High School in 1952. A few years later, she married and moved to Bronx NY to raise a family. In 1970, Alice moved to Dumont NJ, where she permanently resided. She was the Shipping and Receiving Manager of Hamrah’s in Cresskill, later working in Guest Services at Tenafly Racquet Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and mahjong, and had a huge passion for crafting. She spent her time making handcrafted greeting cards, knitting, and crocheting. She was also very fond of her vacations in the Lake George region and Maine. Alice will be dearly missed by her friends and family and will be remembered for her beautiful soul.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 6th, 3-7 PM, at Frech Mc-Knight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ 07628.

Mass will be held on Thursday, March 7th, 11 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 280 Washington Ave, Dumont, NJ. Entombment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
