George D. Aslanis, 71, of Dumont, NJ died unexpectedly at his home on June 26, 2023.  Loving brother of Sophia (Nicos) Nicolaides.  Cherished uncle of Aliki (Mike) Bieltz, Christine (Mike) Phommathep, and grand uncle of Nicholas, Richard, John and Christian.

George was born in Kavala, Greece to Aliki (née Dzamdzoglou) and Demetrios Aslanis.  He immigrated to the United States in 1954, settling in Queens, New York before relocating to Dumont, NJ in 1997.  George worked for the MTA for many years.  He loved his family, good food, and the Mets and Jets. George’s generosity and kindness extended to everyone he met. He enjoyed a good laugh and often texted humorous videos to the family group chat. A child at heart, he doted on his nieces and grand nephews, always agreeing to their silly antics with his catchphrase “okie dokie”. George’s spirit will live on in the lives he touched.
