Obituary

Nicolas Y. Tolentino, a beloved member of the San Nicolas community in Pampanga, Philippines, passed away on June 11, 2023, at the age of 75. Born on October 10, 1947, in Masantol, Pampanga, Nicolas was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend. His warm heart, selfless nature, and commitment to giving back will forever be remembered.

Nicolas was the loving son of Florencio Tolentino and Severino Yamat. He grew up alongside his dear siblings, Margarita Capili, Candelaria Calim, Gerundio Tolentino, Epifania Viray, and Victoria Ibay. Their bond was unbreakable, and their memories together will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

On February 7, 1971, Nicolas united in holy matrimony with his beloved wife, Lota Tolentino. They shared a remarkable journey together for 52 years, filled with love, devotion, and countless cherished moments. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children, Jeannie Ong and Jill Tolentino, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to their lives.

Nicolas found immense delight in being a grandfather to Nikolas Ong, Kiana Ong, Jaiden Sunga, Jacob Sunga, Jaxon Sunga, and Jameson Sunga. They were his greatest source of happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was playing checkers or simply sharing stories and laughter, his presence in their lives will forever be cherished.

Beyond his family, Nicolas was known for his unwavering dedication to his community. He was a pillar of support and generosity, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Nicolas found joy in the simplest of pleasures, whether it was watching basketball and football or just sitting outside his home in Pampanga for hours, conversing with friends, family, and even strangers. His open heart and kind soul touched the lives of many, leaving an lasting mark on the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home on June 15 and June 16, from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM, to celebrate the life and legacy of Nicolas Y. Tolentino. His memory will be honored as stories are shared, tears are shed, and love is embraced.

Nicolas will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his unconditional love, generosity, and the profound impact he made on the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him. As we bid farewell to our beloved Nicolas, may we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to guide us, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
