Obituary

Salvatore Carramusa, 83, of Hackensack, died peacefully on April 6th.  

Salvatore was born in Palermo, Italy. He grew up during the post-war era in that northern Sicilian city where he began working early in life and learned his craft in masonry and construction. As a teenager and young adult, he was an avid cyclist who regularly participated in circuit races through the rugged terrain that the island is famous for. He later immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Hackensack, NJ. He became a master stone and tile contractor – a pioneer in the industry. Owner of S & C Corp. of Hackensack.

Salvatore is survived by his former wife Filippa Cusimano and loving father to his four children, Vincent and his wife Stella, Anthony and his wife Haylynne, David and his wife Charisma, and Salvatore Jr. and his wife Valerie.
A cherished grandfather to his 12 grandchildren – Christian, Brielle, Devin, Marco, Krista, Danielle, Gavin, Dylan, Antonino, Jarett, Ava, and Jake.

A celebration of Salvatore’s life will take place on Thursday, April 13th, 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.  A Catholic Blessing will be offered at the funeral home Friday, April 14th, 10:00 AM.  Salvatore will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
