Helen E. Lortz (née Voelz), 91, of Dumont, died peacefully on April 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter John Lortz (1963). Loving mother of Peter, Jr. and his wife Olympia, David and his wife Pauline, Sherri Bottomley. Cherished grandmother of Peter John III, Michele Angela, Lisa Marie, Melissa Anne, David Edward, Christopher Robert, Joseph Robert, Michael Peter, and great-grandmother of Hailey, Robert, Patrick, Aubrey, Maximus, Angela and Hayden. Dear sister of Alberta Doering. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Edith Fenn (2015).
Helen was born in Teaneck to Edith (née Allen) and Albert Voelz. She worked as a secretary for Tingue Brown & Co. of Fair Lawn for many years. Helen was an avid gardener, and could be found tending her garden at the age of 90.
Visiting Thursday, April 6th, 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. She will be laid to rest with her husband at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
