Raymond H. Bachtler, Jr., 69 of Lodi, passed on March 4, 2023. Raymond is survived by his loving wife Marcia, and their six children; Anastasia and her husband Robert, Amanda, Matthew and his wife Stephanie, Angela, Alicia and Raymond III and his wife Rebecca. Fondly known as Pappy, he is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua, Lilith, Alexzander, Sawyer, Adelina and Alivia. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Christopher Bachtler and Irene Maurice, as well as, many nephews and a niece.
Raymond was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on October 22, 1953 to the late Helen (nee Giovanni) and Raymond Bachtler, Sr. Raymond and Marcia were married for 45 years in Spotswood, NJ. He has worked for Hertz for the past ten years.
He was a self-taught aquarist, a dedicated Harley enthusiast, long time boater and amateur comedian. He loved to share his fishkeeping hobby with those around him and spent countless hours caring for his aquariums. Whether those who loved him knew him as husband, dad, Pappy, brother or uncle, he will be greatly missed and forever loved.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on Friday, March 10th, 2-6 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ. Cremation is private.
