Obituary

O’Keeffe, Timothy. Born and raised in Dromscarra, County Cork, he was the son of the late John
and Margaret (née O’Connor) O’Keeffe. He was the beloved husband of Teresa (née Mulligan)
and loving father to Maureen (Kevin), John (Mary), and Tim. He was the proud grandfather of
Tess, Ryan, Owen, Claire, Carolyn, Maggie, and Timmy.
Ted or Thade, as he was affectionately called, was part of a large and loving extended family.
He was one of nine children and is survived by his brother Joseph (Gina); sister Catherine (the
late Gerry); and sisters-in-law Maura, Sheila, and Bernadette. He was predeceased by his
brothers John, Daniel, Jeremiah, Patrick, Thomas, and Michael. He was a dear uncle to many
nieces and nephews in both the US and Ireland.
Ted was a proud New York Times paper handler and member of the Knights of Columbus. He
was well-read; passionate about history, geography, and crosswords; and genuinely interested
in everyone he met. He treasured his Irish heritage, American citizenship, and the many friends
he made along the way. He enjoyed the greenest lawn in the neighborhood; Autumn leaves
wouldn’t dare land on it.
The family will receive friends at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue in
Dumont, NJ on Monday, December 19 from 4:00-8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be
celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, 280 Washington Avenue in Dumont, NJ on Tuesday, December
20 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ted O’Keeffe can be made to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600 Doylestown, PA 18901 or online at https://www.dementiasociety.org.
