Ann Vitello, formerly of Dumont, later of Hillsdale, passed on July 26, 2022.  Born in the Bronx, daughter of the late Louis and Rachel Montuori, and was an executive secretary, retiring in 1967 to raise her family.  Ann taught CCD in the Bronx, then in New Jersey.

Ann is survived by her two sons, Joseph and wife Jodi, and Frankie, who was her devoted caregiver.  Predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, in 1988.  Also predeceased by her four brothers, of whom John was a great loss to her.  Anna was a caregiver for her parents and to her oldest brother, Anthony through his life.

She held a deep respect for the Holy Eucharist.  Anna loved her family, music, and was an avid Yankees fan.  Jeanne M. and Kathy K. were very dear friends, with most lifelong friends already deceased.  Kathy was a friend of more than 80 years.

Visiting was private and held at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home in Dumont, followed by a Requiem mass offered by Rev. Msgr. Peter Smutelovic, Pastor of St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Hillsdale.  Burial took place at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Anna’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, 69 Valley St., Hillsdale, NJ 07642, or to the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545.

Ann asked to include that she held great adoration for the late, his Excellency, Joseph M. Pernicone, first Italian Bishop of New York.  He was known for his piety and humility as he drew crowds to his Masses.
