Manfred D. Wegner, 86, of Bergenfield, died peacefully at his home on July 23, 2022 surrounded by his family.  Beloved husband of Kathryn (née Ehrenbeck).  Loving father of Karin (Denis) O’Keefe, Dieter (Carol) Wegner, Heidi (Adam) Araujo.  Cherished grandfather of Lindsey (Ryan) Walsh, Sara & (Alex) Kiene, Rebecca (Anthony) Hill, Erik Wegner (Adriana Moran), Kevin Araujo (Katie Piatt), Peter Araujo, Marc Wegner, and loving great-grandfather of Cassidy Walsh.  Also survived by his first wife, Christel Wegner. 

Manfred was born in Berlin, Germany to Hedwig (née Fessel) and Gustav Wegner.  Manfred was a mason and carpenter with Arrow Construction of New York City for many years.  He was a Trustee Emeritus of the Bergen County Historical Society, and a member of many art clubs and the Rockland and Teaneck photography clubs.

Cremation was private.  Memorial visitation Sunday, July 31, 2022, 10 AM – 12 Noon, Service 11:30 AM, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Manfred’s memory to the Bergen County Historical Society Museum Fund, 1201 Main Street, #1209, River Edge, NJ 07661; www.bergencountyhistory.org.
