Obituary

Mario Petrizzi formally of the Bronx and later New Milford, NJ passed away on 8–4–2021. He was born to Antoinette and John Petrizzi in 1935. Mario was predeceased by his wife of 19 years, Filomena in 1992.  He is also predeceased by brothers Mike and Tony, and his sister Carmela.

Mario was a graduate of the New York School of Printing and worked as a printer most of his life, in later years he worked in Woodcrest Nursing Home. He shared a true friendship with Ann Vitello and her son, Frankie, for almost 30 years. Mario spent most of the last four years of his life at their home with Ann and Frankie as his full time caregivers.  He is survived by his caring neice, Linda, who in later life would help him with food shopping and preparing meals, before moving to Las Vegas to start a family.
Mario enlisted in the Navy, earning an honorable discharge and serving in the reserves for four years. He was a devout Catholic and and avid Yankee fan. He was a loving and caring man, with a big heart. Mario would do favors and errands for all.

His Earthly heroes were his Excellency Joseph M. Pernicone, the first Italian bishop of New York And Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees. In later years he attended Saint John the Baptist church in Hillsdale, NJ with Ann and Frankie.

He was laid to rest at the Hackensack Cemetery in Hackensack, NJ.
