Rosa I. Bruno (née DiGioia), 86, of Haworth, NJ, died peacefully on July 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter A. Bruno (2009). Devoted mother of James A. and his wife Cheryl A. Bruno, Aldo R. and his wife Jackie Bruno, Anna F. Villa-Bager and her husband Johan Bager, and Gioia C. Bruno. Cherished grandmother of Jamie, Peter, Teresa, William, Brianna, Nicole, Camilla and Elizabeth, and great-grandmother of Emily.
Rosa was born in Corato, Province of Bari, Italy to Carmen (née Amorese) and Cataldo DiGioia. She was a master seamstress and managed the family’s plumbing business. Rosa was a great supporter of children and adults with special needs. She was employed as an aide with the Bergen Center for Child Development.
Rosa made all the Baptismal bibs for Sacred Heart R.C. Church for over 20 years, and devoted countless hours to the church. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Haworth. She brought people together and treated everyone like family.
Rosa is adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. She was a spirited conversationalist, and her zest for life touched all who knew her. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 25th, 2-6 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont, with a brief memorial service at 5:00 PM.
