Rene P. Ruiz, 89, of Cresskill (formerly of Dumont), died peacefully Monday, May 31, 2021. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Sylvia Ruiz (2018). Devoted father of Dawn (Gerry) Guidice, Rene and William Ruiz. Cherished grandfather of Heather, Eric, Antonio and Che.
Rene was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico to Maria Perez and Eusebio Ruiz. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Dumont Lions Club. Rene enjoyed raising and racing pigeons, as well as writing poetry. He was a talented artist who loved to paint and draw.
Visitation Friday, June 4th, 10 AM – 12 Noon, with a Catholic Blessing at 12 Noon at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rene P.
