Mary J. Hanson age 98, passed peacefully on April 8,  2021. Born in Jersey City, NJ on November 28, 1922 to John and Annie (Holleran) Moynihan. Residing in Dumont, NJ for the past 72 years, she is predeceased by her beloved husband Frank W. Hanson. Mary was the mother of Bruce Hanson and loving mother in law to his wife Lissa. Mary was the devoted grandmother to Jessica Nitzberg and her husband Brian and grandson Keith Hanson and wife Lauren. Mary adored and was so proud of her great grandchildren Stella & Hunter Nitzberg and Mia & Paige Hanson. Mary was the last surviving sibling to her late sisters Helen, Claire, and Patricia and brother Jack. Mary also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews. Mary was an extraordinary and gentle person. Always quick with a smile and ready to help others. She was a kind, caring and beautiful soul who will be loved and missed by many.

The family will receive visitors at the Frech-McKnight Funeral home on Saturday, April 10th from 10:00-12:30 with a burial following at Woodside Cemetery, Dumont, NJ.
