Mathew Ceglia, age 101, of Dumont, NJ (currently of Paramus), passed away on March 21, 2026, at the Veterans’ Home of Paramus. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (née Mongelli) and the loving father of Michelle Ceglia.

Mathew was born in New York City as one of seven children to Maria Nicola (née Barone) and Dominick Ceglia. An Army veteran who served during World War II, he also enjoyed a long career as a designer with Lily of France and Christian Dior lingerie in New York City. He lived a remarkably active life, enjoying, swimming, bicycling, boxing, horseback riding, and skiing. His greatest passion was dancing, which he carried with him throughout his life with unmistakable joy. He also loved gardening, cooking, and took great pride in being impeccably dressed.

A celebration of Mathew’s life will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Cremation will be private.
