Diana A Potente (nee Gilberti) of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026 with her loved ones Robert, Gayle and Matthew by her side. 

Born on January 25, 1932, in Jersey City NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosa (nee Maranzana) Gilberti. She was predeceased by her younger sister Corine Laurice (Gilberti) Spincola. 

Raised in North Bergen, NJ, in 1960 Diana settled with her husband and children in Dumont, NJ where she resided until 2003 when she relocated to Manchester, NH. 

Following the passing of her husband, Robert W. Potente in 1969, Diana successfully raised 2 children while working for Rustic Crafts of Tenafly, NJ, and later as an executive secretary at Scholastic Inc., in Lyndhurst NJ, where she retired in 1997 after more than 20 years service. 

After her retirement, Diana volunteered at a local hospital and particularly enjoyed crocheting hats for newborns and cancer patients. She loved reading books and the newspaper in the mornings and enjoyed scouring supermarket circulars for the best deals. 

Frugal, strong willed, and honest, Diana was proud of her family and took pleasure in spending holidays with her favorite people. In her later years she enjoyed vacations with her family and winters at her home in The Villages, FL. 

Family members include her son Robert J. Potente of Manchester NH, her daughter Gayle D. Smith and husband Owen of Bedford, NH; grandson Matthew J. Smith and partner Alexandra Ayers of Bedford NH; Marc Russomanno and his wife Liana of Tampa FL, and three great grandchildren, Landon Smith, Luca and Cecelia Russomanno. 

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, located at 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont, NJ. Service Monday 12:45 PM. Diana will be laid to rest with her husband at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ.
