Pasquale G. Sfarra, 88, of Dumont, NJ, known and loved by so many as “sweetheart”, “dad”, and “grandpa”, passed away on January 7th, 2026. Pasquale is survived by his beloved wife, Nora, his three daughters and their husbands: Janine and Chris, Dina and Larry, Karen and Gary, his 12 grandchildren, and his two great grand children.

Born in Abruzzo, Italy. He spent most of his childhood in Italy, working in the fields with his four brothers and father— stories he loved to tell.

He moved to America at 17 where he began his career as a welder in the Bronx and all across New York City. He met his sweetheart, Nora, at 27 and they settled down in Teaneck, NJ to start their family. Pasquale and Nora shared a love for over 59 years.

Pasquale was an avid golfer, a hobby he adored sharing with his grandsons and son-in-laws. A sports fan and a devout follower of the New York Rangers, you could usually find Pasquale watching games in the sun porch on his favorite recliner. He loved fishing, being outside and of course a nice glass of cognac or red wine and a cigar, or two.

There are no words to describe how much his playful, joking, soft nature will be missed in all rooms. He touched the hearts of all he met and will be remembered forever.

The family will receive their relatives on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave, Dumont, NJ. A mass celebrating Pasquale’s life and faith will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Church, 280 Washington Ave, Dumont, NJ. The committal service will follow at the Garden of Memories, Paramus, NJ.
