Margaret Mary “Peggy” Sullivan (nee Kelly), 83, of Dumont, died peacefully on December 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Sullivan (2006), and her son, Sean (1972). Loving Mother to Tish (Michael) West, Joseph (Evelyn) Sullivan, Patrick (Peggy) Sullivan, and Elizabeth (Robert) Kelly. Cherished Grandmother of Kaitlin (Chris), Michael (Andrea), Sean, Maggie, Matthew, Kelly (Nick), Patrick, John, Bridget, Timmy, and Joey, and Great-Grandmother to Maeve, Sean, Kevin, Alice, Danny, Nora, Auri, and Mella. 

Peggy was born in Brooklyn, NY to Margaret (nee O’Dea) and Jeremiah Kelly. Her childhood consisted of Irish music and dances, and was filled with family and love. In 1960, she married Joe – the love of her life. They were the best of friends and were truly inseparable.  Together, they experienced life’s greatest joys. Peggy was an amazing Mother, and reared her family with fierce love and loyalty. She was an amazing Grandmother and was a pivotal part of her grandchildren’s lives.  She took deep pleasure in her great grandchildren.

Peggy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, amazing storytelling and her infectious laugh. She truly knew how to light up a room. Although she will be deeply missed, her values and traditions will live on through her family. We are at peace knowing that she is finally reunited with her wonderful husband, Joe. They are dancing together in heaven. 

Visitation will be at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
