Marie A. Heaney (née Halligan), 73, of Dumont, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025.  She was born in the Bronx, NY to Bridget (née Gibbons) and Patrick Halligan.  

Loving mother of Kelliann Heaney and her husband Gabriel, and Thomas Heaney.  Cherished grandmother of Conor and Ronan. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas Heaney (1998), brothers John, James and Kevin, and is survived by her brother Patrick and sister Kathleen Murray. 

Marie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Marie’s greatest joy in life came from being “Mimi.” Her two grandchildren were truly her whole world. She adored them with her entire heart—celebrating every milestone, showering them with endless love, laughter, and pride. Being their grandmother was one of her life’s most treasured roles. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the care of the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, Dumont.
