Irene H. Wood (née Hudson), 88, of Haworth, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, William J. Wood (2001), and her son, Craig William Wood (2000).  Irene is survived by her devoted sons, Dennis and his wife Kerri, and Brian Wood. She was a cherished grandmother to Marshall, Liam, and Craig.  Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Irene grew up with nine siblings. She is survived by her youngest brother, Thomas Hudson, and was predeceased by her eight other siblings.

Irene spent many years working at the Haworth Pharmacy dedicated to helping the local community.  Some of her happiest moments were spent on the sidelines, cheering on her children and their friends.  Later in life during her retirement, Irene enjoyed time working at Louis Vuitton at the Riverside Square Mall in Hackensack, NJ.  Irene was a devout Catholic, and when she could no longer physically attend mass at Sacred Heart, she faithfully participated by watching the daily service on the television.  She touched countless people and was deeply loved by all her knew her.  

Visiting Friday, August 29, 2025, 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.  Funeral Mass Saturday, August 30, 2025, 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 102 Park Street, Haworth.  All those who wish to attend the mass are asked to gather directly at the church.  Irene will be laid to rest with her husband and son at Ocean View Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.  Irene was a breast cancer survivor, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Irene’s memory to Susan G Komen at www.komen.org.
