Michael J. Flanagan, 91, of Dumont, entered into eternal rest on May 19, 2025. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen (née Campbell). Devoted father of Brian (Jean) Flanagan. Cherished grandfather of Sean, Jack, Ryan, and Michael. Adored uncle of Rosemary Walsh. Survived by his daughter-in-law, Cecilia Flanagan. Predeceased by his son, Michael Flanagan, his brothers Edward and Philip Flanagan, his sisters, Rosemary, Patsy, Gloria Ann and Helene Flanagan.
Michael was born in the Bronx, NY to Margaret (née Maher) and Michael Flanagan. He was employed as building maintenance and manager for the U.S. Postal Service in Manhattan for many years, retiring in 2002, and was a longtime member of the Dumont Seniors.
A celebration of Michael’s life will take place on Thursday, May 22nd, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. A Funeral Service will be offered at the funeral home on Friday, May 23rd at 10:00 AM. Michael will be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
