Anna M. Boyle, of Cresskill, NJ (formerly of Dumont, NJ and Ormond Beach, FL) passed away
peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 1st . Anna was born
in Glasgow, Scotland to parents Tom and Annie Sweeney. Growing up in Co. Leitrim, Ireland
before emigrating to the U.S. at the early age of 19 where she met and married the love of her
life, Michael Boyle. Together they built a true love story, one that was built in a strong faith,
compassion, and love of helping others. They settled in Dumont, NJ where they raised their
beautiful family and Anna created the most welcoming home filled with love and laughter; a
home that was always open to a loved one, friend or neighbor. Anna was an incredibly loving
Grandmother. Her grandkids have many treasured memories of sleepovers with the smell of
pancakes in the morning, walks to Walgreen’s at “the circle” where they were spoiled with treats
and toys, and holidays that were made magical. In retirement, Anna loved to take in the views of
the beautiful ocean in Ormond Beach, listening to music and doing her crossword puzzles as she
sat next to the love of her life. Despite any health challenges in her later years, Anna greeted
each day and person with a smile, a hug and a kiss. As long as, she had her “Michael” by her
side all was right in her world. Their love and their dedication to each other was a true
inspiration and a testament to their 62 years of marriage. Anna lived every day with gratitude
loving the simple beauty in life and in nature, gardening, watching the birds and looking out over
the ocean. Her ocean blue eyes and beautiful smile lit up any room she walked into. Anna was
known for her kind heart, thoughtfulness, and fun-loving spirit. She loved to celebrate life and
often lifted a glass to say “Cheers……It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!” and fittingly entered the
“Gates of Heaven” at 5pm. While the light is now dimmer in our worlds, we will honor her
loving spirit in our hearts forever.
Anna is survived by her beloved husband Michael, daughter Ann Byrnes and husband Brian,
daughter Erin Corser and husband Kevin, son Michael and wife Jackie, son Brian and wife
Kimberly, and five beloved grandchildren Brandon, Brianna, Bradley, Cory, and Kylie.
