Obituary

With deep sorrow and profound faith in God’s will, we announce the passing of our beloved “Apo,” Dominga Girangaya. She was called home by our Heavenly Father on September 9th, 2024, at the blessed age of 96. Born in Cebu City, Dominga lived a life centered on her devotion to her family and her faith in the Lord.

A devoted servant of God, Dominga was a devout Catholic who drew strength and comfort from her beliefs. As a loving mother to her five daughters, she exemplified love, sacrifice, and perseverance. Our Apo dedicated her life to her family, raising her children and later caring for her grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her nurturing guidance and unwavering support.

Apo’s deep connection to God was a steady source of comfort and strength throughout her life. Her prayers and spiritual devotion brought peace not only to her but to her loved ones as well. She was a calming presence, offering guidance and quiet strength that uplifted everyone around her.

Dominga is survived by her daughters, Beth, Fe, Lynne, Elsa, and Belen; her grandchildren, Joselito, Diza, Enrique, Kylene, Rafael, Ronnie, Eric, Amanda, Agatha, Summer, Samantha, Nikki, Michelle, Lorraine, Nico, and Adriane; and their families as well as the countless family members and friends whose lives she touched with her enduring love and grace. Though we grieve her loss, we take comfort in the belief that she is now at peace in God’s embrace, her spirit resting in eternal light.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church on September 13, 2024, 11:00 AM where we will come together to celebrate her life, her faith, and the love she shared with all who knew her.

May she rest in peace.
