Francis A. Martin
February 3, 1936 – July 5, 2024

Francis A. Martin, 88, entered heaven on Friday July 5, 2024. Born in Co. Cavan, Ireland, Frank grew up in Glasgow, Scotland, served honorably in the Royal Army Service Corps during the Malaysian Emergency and immigrated to the US in 1957. He lived in New York City and Englewood, NJ before settling in Dumont.

A longtime employee of PSE&G, Frank retired in 1996, but continued working at the Cupola senior care facility and Alpine Country Club. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Dumont. Frank is predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Maureen (Barrett) Martin, and 10 siblings.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Bridget (nee Fitzgerald) Martin, his sister Katherine Key, four grieving children, Annmarie Colwell and her husband Thomas, Michael, Steven, and John and his wife Megan. He was an adored grandfather to Owen, Patrick, Nora, Avery, Lily, Jack and Fiona. He was a devoted friend to Gail and Deo Huggins, who were always present with their love and support.

A Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 280 Washington Ave, Dumont, NJ 07628. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ 07652.

Visiting will be held on Monday, July 8th, 4-8 PM at Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave, Dumont, NJ 07628.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mary’s Church in Dumont NJ.
