Karen “Nan” Kaine passed away peacefully in her home with loved ones at the age of 77.   The daughter to Marjorie and Fred Gallagher, she was the true love and wife to Laurence E. Kaine; favorite sister to Fred, Rick, Jeff, Michael; loving mother to Scott and wife Jen, Erin and husband Patrick, Sean and wife Gretchen; adored grandmother to the magnificent seven: Sullivan, Brady, Katie, Jack, Connor, Jamie, and Lauren. 

Karen could light-up any room and her warmth made it impossible for strangers to remain strangers.  She possessed this unique balance of empathy and energy, able to turn any frown upside-down while making you feel loved to your core.  She was tough, a tap dancer, and thoughtful beyond imagination.  She shared her beaming smile and spark for life with her beloved husband of 52 years, Larry.  They are joined once again, and we are certain the reunion party will be epic. 

To her family, she was Nan.  Always laughing, always dancing, always and forever, the amazing Nan.  She will be missed dearly, but her spirit and vibrance live on in all of us.  Thank you, Nan.  We love you.
