Lois Anderson (Dettmer) passed away on February 10, 2024, in Dumont, NJ. Lois was raised in Teaneck, NJ, and was the beloved daughter of Chester and Edna Dettmer.

Lois graduated from Teaneck High School in 1948 and went on to pursue her higher education at Limestone University in Gaffney, South Carolina, where she graduated in 1952. After graduating college, Lois moved to Manhattan and worked at JC Penny as a Chemist.

It was in Manhattan where Lois met her beloved husband, Carl Edward Anderson, at the 5th Avenue Presbyterian Church. They were later married on June 3, 1961 and shared many beautiful years together, before his death in 1987.

Lois is survived by her three devoted children, Linda Kroger (Pete), Carl Anderson, and Beth O’Malley (John), and her cherished grandchildren, Brian and Eric Kroger, and Ethan, Meghan, and Owen O’Malley.

A wake will be held in remembrance of Lois at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home in Dumont, NJ, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Lois will be laid to rest in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Flushing, NY.  Lois will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
