Robert H. Gill, 92, of Dumont, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on November 21, 2023.  Predeceased by his beloved wife, Shirley (née Scott) (2013) and his cherished only daughter, Clara Mae (1956).  Robert is survived by his nephew, Charles (Joan) Gill, grand-nieces Laura (John), and Amy (Roy).  Also survived by great-grandnephews and niece, Trevor, Sam and Skylar.  Predeceased by four brothers and four sisters.

Robert was born in Port Jervis, NY to Ethel Mae (née Lewis) and Richard Gill.  He attended Bergen Community College and was a graduate of William Paterson College. Robert was a member of the Dumont Police Department for 41 years, retiring as a Lieutenant in 1999.  Robert was an avid car enthusiast and a 70-year member of the Alpine-Tilden Lodge.  The family wishes to express their gratitude to Robert’s beloved caregivers, Melinda Romero and Chuck Reigert.
