Clare E. Connolly died unexpectedly on November 17, 2023.  Clare was born on September 17, 1957, in Teaneck, NJ and resided in Dumont for the past 63 years.

She was an avid cruiser, sailing to Alaska, the Caribbean, and even Greenland just in September. Proud of her Irish roots, she visited the Emerald Isle several times and fully embraced Irish culture. Clare’s welcoming personality, joy of life, and loyalty were cherished by friends and family. Clare was an especially loving and proud aunt. Two special highlights were annual trips to Six Flags Great Adventure and New Jersey Devils games with her nieces and nephews.

Clare had a 29-year career at Wallenius-Wilhelmsen of Parsippany, working as an administrative assistant and events coordinator.

Clare was the loving sister of Gerald Connolly (Nancy) and Raymond Connolly (Christine Fethes-Connolly); devoted aunt of Maureen Brown, Erin Cogan and Ryan Connolly; Michael Connolly and Catherine Connolly.  She was predeceased by her parents Margaret (nee McQuade) and Gerald Connolly.  

A celebration of Clare’s life will be offered on Monday, November 20th, 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November 21st at 11 AM at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont.  Interment Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
