Robert E. Guevara, 69, of Dumont, NJ, (formerly of West New York) passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023. Beloved husband of Marie (née Tutoli). Loving father of Robert J. (Kelly) Guevara. Cherished grandfather of Remy Sheridan. Dear brother of Lorenzo (Kathy) Guevara. Predeceased by his brother Fred Guevara.
Robert was born in Caracas, Venezuela to Ileana (née Arevalo) and Frederick Guevara. He resided in West New York until moving to Dumont in 1983. Robert earned a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Peter’s College, Englewood Cliffs, and was employed as a Computer Technician with Northern Valley Regional Board of Education, retiring in 2019. Robert was on active duty with the U.S. Navy from 1972-1976, than transitioned to the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Tech Sergeant. Robert was a model trains, NASCAR and Formula One enthusiast.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Friday, August 25th, 4:00-8:00 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. A Prayer Service will beheld at 7:00 PM. Cremation is private.
