Anne R. Joyce, 90, of Tappan, NY (formerly of Dumont, NJ) passed away peacefully on May 29, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Sean Joyce (2013). Loving mother of Ann Marie (Joe) O’Brien. Predeceased by her son, John M. Joyce (2016). Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Stephanie (Eric), Faith, and John. Dear sister of Kathleen (the late Noel) Corcoran. Also survived by a daughter-in-law, Lori Joyce, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews, both here and in Ireland, and Anita (Jimmy) Thompson, a special member of the Joyce family. Predeceased by her sister, Mary (and husband Pat) Cahalan.
Anne was born in Claddagh, County Galway, Ireland to Bridget (née Clancy) and Michael Jordan. She immigrated to the U.S., settling in Inwood, NY and then to Dumont, NJ. Anne was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church for many years, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Her family was her greatest treasure, especially her grandchildren. She loved to go (home) to Ireland to see all of her family and friends.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Sunday, June 4th, 3-7 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. The Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, June 5th, 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 102 Park Street, Haworth. Anne will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
