Mary Grace Winner (née DeStefano), 81, a 52-year resident of Dumont, New Jersey, died peacefully at home on February 6th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the loving mother of Christian and Kelly Winner. She was also the dear sister of Alphonse DeStefano as well as the beloved aunt of Tracy and Todd DeStefano.
Mary was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Mary (née Sorrentino) and Joseph DeStefano. She was a 1959 graduate of Cliffside Park High School and worked as a bookkeeper for Philmont Manufacturing Company in Englewood, New Jersey for 30 years, retiring in her 60s. She then worked as a deputy registrar for the Dumont Board of Health, retiring in 2016. Mary enjoyed dancing and taking exercise classes at the Dumont Senior Center.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Friday, February 10th, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Catholic blessing at 7:30 p.m., at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, in Dumont.
