Frank N. Gentile (AKA Cheese, Cheech & BIG), 28, passed away suddenly on January 12th. Born and raised in Dumont, NJ. He lived in Dumont, NJ his whole life.
He is survived by his father Frank Gentile, his mother Susan Vercelli. Predeceased by his grandmother, Maria (NAUNA) Gentile, and grandfather, Nicholas Gentile, and his uncle, Nicholas J. Gentile. Also survived by grandparents, Carl and Linda Vercelli, his sister, Nichol Gentile, half-brothers Tony, Dominick and Louis, nieces and nephew, Giana, Anthony, and Angelina, his aunt, Lisa Austin, uncle, Patrick Austin, and many other aunts and uncles, cousins, Jessica Mulligan, Patrick Austin, and many other cousins.
He worked for his father and RCS Construction. Frankie will be remembered as an avid sports fan, most of all baseball and softball. Frank played in numerous leagues. Frankie was a diehard Yankees fan and a big fan of Thurman Munson and Paul O’Neill. Frankie enjoyed playing golf with his dad and many friends.
Frankie was also known as being the life of the party with his family and friends, always smiling and joking around. He will also be remembered as a loyal friend who would always go out of his way to help others before helping himself. He would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.
Frankie loved his family, and was the most loyal person you could know. He always put others before himself. He always had a smile for everyone. He was everyone’s buddy.
Visiting Monday, January 23rd, 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Entombment Garden of Memories, Township of Washington. Funeral Mass Tuesday, January 24th, 10:00 AM Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Haworth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Dumont Recreation Department.
