Obituary

Eileen C. McKeever, 80, of Englewood, N.J. (formerly of Hoboken N.J.) died peacefully on November 19, 2022. one day shy of her 81st birthday. Eileen was born in Hoboken, N.J. the only child of Eileen “Helen” (nee Fogarty) and Peter Born and cherished niece of Germaine and Al Klein. 

 Eileen is survived of her husband James J. McKeever of 60 years and her children Brian (Corrine) McKeever and Deborah (William ) Zika and her grandchildren, William Joseph, Christopher Ryan, Alexa Rae and Aidan Joseph as well has her beloved four legged grandchild “Guinness”.

Eileen was born and raised in Hoboken, N.J. and was a secretary for the Bank of New York for over 20 years.  Eileen spent her childhood at the Jersey Shore where she fell in love with the beach and ocean, which always brought her peace and happiness from Manasquan, LBI, to Wildwood Crest.

Eileen was a “one of a kind” and touched many lives of people, not just her own family.  She will be missed by everyone near and far as well as her philosophy of “Live well, Laugh Often, Love Much and Don’t Be So Serious”.

At Eileen’s request she asks in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Saint Jude’s Children Research Hospital to help in fighting childhood cancer and provide the opportunity to save thousands of more children from the horrible disease that Eileen battled with courage and dignity the last 10 months.

Visiting Wednesday, November 30th, 2-7 PM, with a Catholic Blessing at 4 PM, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Cremation is private.

A celebration of Eileen’s life will be held immediately following the visitation at Andiamo’s Restuarant, 23 Hardenburgh Avenue, Haworth, NJ. All are invited to attend.
