Bette Jo Spellman (née Mourer), 80 of Oradell NJ, formerly of Fair Lawn NJ, passed away on November 21, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Beloved wife of the late Myles Spellman.  Loving mother of Stacy (Steven) Zuccaro, Steven (Victoria) Eberling and stepmother to Michael (Daniela) Spellman.  Proud grandmother of John, Julianna, RJ, Sophia, Alana, Lorelei and Michael.  Dearest sister of Jeffrey (Barbara) Verrone and Annetta (Jim) Pruitt.  Cherished aunt of Joseph (Gary) Iem-Verrone.

Bette Jo was born in Danville, Illinois to Margaret and Earl Mourer. She graduated Fair Lawn High School in 1959. She always remembered high school fondly and still had many high school friends. After graduation, she took a job at the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro, NJ. In the mid 1970’s, she then moved on to become a bookkeeper for Pike Construction Company in Paterson, NJ where she spent most of her career.

Bette Jo was an avid reader, knitter, sports fan, and loved jigsaw puzzles. She also had a love of travel and camping but nothing compared to her love of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them the most. She will be missed by everyone who knew her, especially her family.

Visitation Monday, November 28th from 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont, NJ.  The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, 10 AM at the funeral home.  All are invited, beginning 9:30 AM prior to the 10:30 AM Catholic Blessing.  Burial immediately following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
