Sandra Fernandez (née Stavros), 69, of Dumont, NJ died peacefully on March 29, 2022.  Beloved wife of Joseph Fernandez.  Loving mother of Jeffrey Fernandez and his wife Cori, Missy Fernandez and her wife Brittany.  Cherished grandmother of Remi, Rafael, and Ryan.

Sandra was born in Paterson, NJ to Artemis (née Pappas) and Angelo Stavros.  Sandra lived in Dumont, NJ for nearly all her life.  Sandra’s commitment to education was nearly unparalleled.  She served on Dumont’s Board of Education for more than 30 years in various capacities ranging from President to Treasurer.  Professionally, she grew and managed her family’s residential and commercial real estate portfolio, and she was a Bergen County Broker and Realtor with Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty for about 25 years.  Before that, she managed County Auto Parts in Tenafly, NJ.

Visiting Friday, April 1st, 10-11 AM, with the Funeral Service immediately following, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church, 353 E. Clinton Ave., Tenafly.  Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105; www.stjude.org.
