Shirley I. Spaeth (née Maebert), 95, of Demarest, NJ, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Predeceased by the love of her life, Harold Spaeth (2013), Past District Governor of Rotary District 7490 and member of the West Point/Highland Falls Rotary Club. Shirley and Harold were high school sweethearts who were married for 64 wonderful years. They bought their home in Demarest in 1951 and lovingly raised their family there. Shirley was the devoted and supportive mother of Glen F. Spaeth of Bogota, NJ, Curt (Andrina) Spaeth of Miami, FL, and Susan (Rick) Kaprielian of New Milford, NJ.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of Shirley’s life. She was the fantastic grandmother of Jason (Emily) Spaeth, Emily (Tom) Michael, Boomer Spaeth, Christopher Calix, Joshua Spaeth, Alexander Spaeth, Matthew (Paulina) Kaprielian, and Jordan Kaprielian, and great-grandmother of Sage Spaeth, Max Spaeth, and Eliza Michael.  She was predeceased by her daughters, Judy Spaeth  and Linda (Edward) Calix.

Shirley was born in Cliffside Park, NJ to Louise (née Lowman) and Ernest Maebert.  She devoted her life to caring for her family. Shirley also loved to garden. She had a green thumb and could grow anything!! She was a past president and honorary member of the Demarest Garden Club.  Shirley and Harold loved to travel and also enjoyed their vacation home in Vermont, which Harold and his sons built. Shirley will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
