Raymond was born to Stella (née Winters) and Raymond Hilton in Yonkers, NY. He was the founder of Sociability, the very first computer dating company. He was also a salesman for many years with Time Warner of Ridgefield Park, NJ, and a Navy veteran.
To know Ray was to love him. He was truly larger than life and always had a story to share. He loved his family without reserve and would do anything to help someone in need. Countless people benefitted from Ray’s friendship and his generosity. Everyone that Ray met became a friend, including people who worked on his house. In fact, they spent more time chatting with Ray at the dining room table with a cup of coffee and a homemade meal than they did actually working, and Ray would not have wanted it any other way. Nobody loved a celebration or a good prank more than Ray. You always had to be careful where you sat when visiting Ray because you were likely to sit on a Whoopie cushion to his delight. From chattering teeth to fake gum, you never knew what to expect from Ray.
Memorial visitation Thursday, August 13th, 1-4 PM (with Military Honors at 3:45 PM) at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made in Raymond’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; https://www.stjude.org/donate/.
