Obituary

Frances Knotts (née Traverso), 86, of Dumont, died peacefully on April 4, 2020.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Charles Knotts, her devoted daughters, Maria F. Schackner and her husband Robert and Cheryl Knotts.  Cherished grandmother of Ryan and his wife Sarah, Sarah, and great-grandchildren, Anna and Nora.  Also survived by a brother, Philip Traverso and a sister, Maria Ferrando.

Frances was born in Fort Lee, NJ to Emma Marie (née Hiszen) and Philip Traverso.  She was a secretary with AT&T in New York City, and also worked in the Hardware Dept. of Sears, Roebuck & Co., Hackensack.  Frances was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Dumont, a member of the Altar & Rosary Society, a die-hard N.Y. Yankee fan, and a very generous, thoughtful person.

Arrangements are private. A Memorial will take place at a later date. For those wishing to express their sympathy, donations in Frances’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assocation.
