Obituary

James “Jimmy” Fox, 79, of Dumont, died peacefully on November 14, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.  Beloved husband of 55 years to Joan (née Rutledge).  Dear brother of Elizabeth Fox-Dunwoody and her husband Kevin.  Cherished uncle of many loving nieces and nephews.

James was born in New York City, and raised in Flushing, Queens, NY, to Kathleen (née Murphy) and James P. Fox.  He was a Navy veteran serving his country from 1957 to 1961, and a proud member of Local 608, New York City for 50 years.  He was a proud American, an avid reader, animal lover, friend to many.  James was a very compassionate, generous man and a champion of the less fortunate,

Funeral Mass Tuesday, November 19th, 11 AM, St. Joseph R.C. Church, Demarest.  Interment with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  Family and friends are welcome to celebrate James’ life on Monday, November 18th, 4-8 PM at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont; www.frechmcknight.com.
