Gertrude “Muzo” Verdon


GERTRUDE MARGARET VERDON (née Malone).  Gertrude “Muzo” Verdon, 89, of Emerson, NJ formerly of Cape Coral, FL and Jersey City, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2019. She was born July 28, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ to George and Sara Malone.  She loved her family, her friends, her job at Block Drug in Jersey City, good conversation and good coffee.  She always had a smile on her face and will be greatly missed. She is now reunited with her beloved husband  of 64 years, Michael  T. Verdon. She is survived by her five children; Michael Verdon and wife Susan of CA, Patrick Verdon, Rosemarie Verdon, Mary Verdon of NJ and Joseph Verdon and wife Margaret of NJ.  She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren; Michael, Daniel,  Joseph, Anthony, Michael, Liam, Ella and Conor, as well as eight great grandchildren.

No formal services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of Gertrude M. Verdon are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
