Born at Englewood Hospital in New Jersey, Richard graduated from Dumont High School and lived most of his life in Dumont with his beloved wife and daughter. He worked for many years as a master automotive technician at Park Avenue Acura in Maywood, and other dealerships of Honda.

His passions included building grandfather clocks, listening to music, and taking spontaneous road trips with his family. Through his abundant kindness and generous heart, Richie leaves behind a lasting Legacy of Love in the hearts blessed to know him.

Suzanne P. Ng (née Weinheimer), 55, of West Orange, NJ, formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away on May 31, 2026 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Hai Ng, loving daughter of Mary (née Bouton) and the late William Weinheimer (1994), and dear sister of Laura Kibala and her husband Daniel. Though she didn’t have children of her own, she was always proud to talk about the two nephews on her side of the family; three nephews, two nieces, three grand-nieces, and two grand-nephews on the other; and the hundreds of kids whose lives she touched over her 30-years plus career with the South Orange & Maplewood School District (SOMSD).

Born in Westwood, NJ, and raised in Bergenfield, NJ, Suzanne graduated from Bergenfield High School Class of ’89. After graduating from Marywood University Class of ’94, she became a teacher and librarian at SOMSD—beginning with a position at South Mountain Elementary School & Annex, and later moving over to Columbia High School, with a brief engagement at Seth Boyden Elementary School.

When she wasn’t in school, her heart would still be with her chosen career and “her kids,” always taking the opportunity to visit rummage sales and book sales, on the lookout for lost library books she could return and books she could get for “her kids.”

As a lover of all things trivia and an avid watcher of Jeopardy!—although she wasn’t picked to appear—Suzanne did meet Alex Trebec when she qualified to try out as a contestant.

Suzanne was also a big fan of cooking shows, travelogues, and documentaries. She enjoyed dining with some of the best chefs in New Jersey’s Farm-to-Fork scene; meeting and tasting the craft of Top Chefs and celebrity chefs from all over; taking road trips across the United States and Canada, and exploring the World; visiting and experiencing—first-hand—many of the things she had seen on TV and the movies, and meeting some of the people involved.

Learning the game of mahjong from her mother-in-law on her first trip to Singapore, Suzanne brought the love of the game back to New Jersey with her and eventually joined a group of ladies for weekly games at a nearby Panera.

While she wasn’t a big videogamer, Suzanne loved a variety of word, puzzle, and casual games on her smartphone. She would join her husband in exploring the Wizarding World on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite and become expert Pokémon Trainers on Pokémon Go, attending several in-person Pokémon Go Fests and many community events.

Over the last several months, even though she was bedridden, she didn’t allow herself to be beaten. She was always in high spirits and continued to help out at Columbia High School wherever she could and stayed active in the SOMSD Community, all from bed, all the while working hard to get better so she could go back to school and see “her kids” again this Fall.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 14th from 2 PM-6 PM at Old North Reformed Church in Dumont, NJ. All are welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, and whenever you think of Suzanne, please consider a donation to your local library, return a lost library book you might find, or bring some much needed supplies to a food pantry, in her memory—she would be pleased to be remembered in a giving way.

John R. “Bob” Dondero, 90, of Riverdale, NJ (formerly of Dumont), passed away peacefully at his home on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Virginia “Ginny” Dondero (née Kowantz); a devoted father to Michael Dondero and his partner Roland Hernandez, Peter Dondero and his wife Donna, and Susan Kasperavich and her husband Edward; and a cherished grandfather to Ashley Kasperavich.  Bob was also fortunate to have Matthew Hernandez, Dawn (Cassano) Jennings and Phillip Cassano as a cherished part of his life throughout the years.

Bob and Ginny shared 44 wonderful years together in Dumont before moving to Powder Mill Condominium, an over‑55 community in Riverdale, where they continued to build lasting friendships and memories.

Born in Jersey City, Bob was raised in Union City by his parents, Mary (née O’Neill) and John B. Dondero. He attended Xavier High School in New York City and went on to study at St. Peter’s College and Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966. In 1962, Bob met Ginny, the love of his life, and together they raised three children.  This June, they would have been married 64 years.

Professionally, Bob was a Food Service Director for Philip Morris, Ford Motor Company, and Aramark Corporation.   He and Ginny also owned and operated a beloved catering business in Dumont for more than 20 years, known for both its food and hospitality.

Bob dedicated his life to service, most notably through his lifelong membership in St. John’s Council #1345 of the Knights of Columbus. He served in numerous leadership roles, including Grand Knight, District Deputy, President of the Bergen Federation, and Faithful Navigator of the Fourth Degree. As Head Chef, Bob spent countless hours preparing meals and mentoring others; fittingly, the kitchen at St. John’s proudly bears his name. He was also honored as a member of “Bergen’s Best” by the Bergen Federation of the Knights of Columbus. Among his many contributions, Bob revitalized the longstanding tradition of monthly visits by the Knights to the Paramus Veterans Home, ensuring veterans were able to attend Mass.

Beyond the Knights, Bob was deeply involved in Meals on Wheels of North Jersey, ultimately serving as President of the Board of Trustees. At St. Mary’s Church in Dumont, he co‑chaired the annual Carnival, ran the food booth, and oversaw food operations throughout the event. He also served as President of the Parish Council, President of the Dumont Swim Club, and volunteered with multiple organizations supporting underserved populations at homeless shelters in Bergen and Essex Counties.

After relocating to Riverdale, Bob remained as active as ever, serving as a member of the Board of Powder Mill Associates and as Secretary on the Board and also led the weekly rosary group in his building.

To describe Bob as the “ultimate volunteer” would still fall short. He found true joy in serving others, lived his faith every day and impacted countless lives through his generosity, leadership, and kindness.

Bob will be deeply missed by his family, his brother Knights, and the many friends he made throughout his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Frech‑McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Avenue, Dumont.   A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 280 Washington Avenue, Dumont. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Paramus Veterans Home.
